Are you looking for a recipe to for those “cookin’ apples” that we get in our farm share? Try homemade applesauce!
Peel the apples and cut into small pieces. Put them into a saucepan with about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of water (enough to cover the bottom of the pan). Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and any other spices you like (ginger was quite tasty!) Simmer on medium, with the pan covered, for about 20 minutes or until the apples are fork-soft. Buzz them up in a blender, food processor, or simply mash with a potato masher and enjoy plan, with a sprinkle of sugar, or as a delicious ice cream topping.
