Return from vacation, and harvest for January 25, 2011

We’re back from the woods of Arkansas. We went to Ponca, AR, and spent 5 days in a cabin, hiking with the girls each day in the snow, and had a grand time. We’ve returned to the farm newly energized and enthusiastic, and ready for a new year of growing great food. Here’s some photos from the trip, and a great quote which makes me think of our time away;

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees
The winds will blow their own freshness into you…
while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
-John Muir

In tomorrows harvest you can expect;
Senposai (asian collards)
Green onions
mixed greens braising mix (Asian greens which ar probably just a little bigger than salad size, but will be great cooked)
Butternut squash
Chinese Cabbage

Hope to see you at the farm. And thanks for letting me be your farmer.
