Monday night Curtis got home late from meeting with the guys from our church. He could feel in the air that it was going to frost. He knew that it was a possibility from the forecast, but was hoping it wasn’t going to happen. He gathered up some row cover and went to covering the plants in the field. I awoke at 3:30 in the morning when he finally crawled in bed, he was hoping that it made a difference for the plants. Tuesday morning, it proved true, his late night scramble has saved many plants and there is still promise for tomatoes, eggplant, melon, zucchini, squash. Usually he would have been in bed much earlier, so he probably wouldn’t have caught that it was about to frost.
