Harvest April 3, 2012

We have had a very busy week on the farm, repairing high tunnels both here and at the school, planting tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, etc.,  weeding spinach, carrots, beets, setting up irrigation, and a whole slew of other things.  The warm weather’s got us running full tilt to get things in the ground, and take advantage of an early spring.  That part’s great, but it is tough to compress what is already always a busy season of planting and weeding, into an even shorter amount of time…  Anyway, the good news is that we have a great harvest tomorrow:
Head Lettuce
Spinach
Chard
Kale

Seedlings getting their weekly fish emulsion fertilizer

Green Onions
Rhubarb
Sweet potatoes
Radishes
Baby lettuce mix

All lovingly harvested for you just in time to get it into your hands at the peak of freshness.  With all this hustling and bustling around the farm, we could use a few extra hands this week and next, catching up with the weeds and planting.  If you have time to come out and spend a couple of hours with us, we’d love to have the help.  We will be around every day this week from about 8-6, and Saturday from 9-12.   If you’re able to help, just give us a call 839-0847, or let us know by e-mail.  Thanks,
Curtis
