Harvest for August 14, 2012

Welcome to fall…  or so it would seem.  We’ve sure been enjoying the cooler weather on the farm, plus a little rain here and there.  It has allowed us to get several fall crops seeded and some of them are starting to come up.  Summer crops are still in the forefront though, and we have a nice harvest this week.  This weeks harvest is not as big as some, as the long term results of the drought are beginning to show, but we still have a good variety of veggies, and the share is still a great value.  In this week’s harvest we have;

Tomatoes
Eggplant
Potatoes
Basil
Hot Peppers
Bell peppers
Green Onions
Bulb onions
Cucumbers
In whole only;
Carrots
Cherry tomatoes or tomatillos
Red Asian Beans
Celery
Half Shares only;
Okra
Have a great week, we’ll see you at the farm or at the market.
Thanks,
Curtis

    What kind of grapes were those in the fruit share? They are awesome!

      Those are Reliance grapes, organically grown by Dove Mountain Vineyard in Mountain Grove. They are amazing aren’t they. I think we’ll get to have them for one more week, then probably back to peaches for a couple of weeks, then on to apples and pears.
