Week 2 for our CSA

It’s a thunderstormy day on the farm, but the harvest is just about complete, and we’re getting ready to divide the portions out.  We have a great spring share today, with lots of greens, radishes, beets,  romaine lettuce, etc.  I hope you’ve enjoyed your first harvest last week; if you ever have any problems or concerns, please let us know asap, and we’ll address them promptly.  We still have a few shares available, so if you know people who are thinking about it, please encourage them to take action soon.  In today’s harvest you will find;
Kale; Red Russian Variety, large, lobed, maroon and green leaves make great kale chips, soup, or sauted greens.  It’s also good for salad, just be sure to give it time to soften after prepping and dressing it.   We have several great Kale recipes on the website.
Head Lettuce; Dancine Romaine is the variety, a wonderful, sweet and crunchy lettuce with lots of great flIMG_1156 IMG_1110 IMG_1115

Radishes; Champion is a large, pink, mild variety.  We also have some great radish recipes on the website, including several recipes for cooked radish, which tames spicy radishes.

Fruit Share is Strawberries, conventionally raised from Browns Berry Farm.
Please remember to bring a container to carry your share with you to pickup, and if you are a home delivery, please set your empty tub out so we can trade you a full for an empty.
