This Week at Millsap Farm

   Hello friends! We hope you have had a wonderful two weeks since we last met. Things have been shaping up here quite nicely. Our farmstand is coming together thanks to a few days of nice weather, coupled with enthusiastic helping hands. We have a new member we would like you to all welcome to our farming family, the farmstand door! The sliding barn door that Curtis has been envisioning for weeks has finally started to manifest, and what a work of art it is!

   Last Saturday we were planning to have Americorps bring a dedicated group of public service enthusiasts to lend an eager hand to some projects on the farm. The event, however, has been pushed to this Saturday (15th) due to last weeks chilly weather. If you would like to be involved please let us know, and we can add you to the line-up of wonderful volunteers. There will be a wood fired pizza lunch provided to thank you for your participation. Call Curtis at 417-839-0847 and let him know you are coming!

   As chilly as Saturday was, we still had some brave CSA members make it to the CSA workday. They worked very hard and helped us accomplish a lot! Thank you very much to all that made it out. Among other things we cleared a space that used to be storage shelving and piles, and made room for a new raised bed to grow even more vegetables for you!

See! Isn’t it majestic?

   Well, that is about all I have this week. I hope you are all loving the first signs of Spring, I know we are. As always, thank you for all of your hard work and support you bring to help our farm succeed! Now lets get to the good stuff, your vegetables!


Weekly Harvest

Full Shares: head lettuce, spinach, arugula, sweet potatoes, spaghetti/butternut squash, carrots, jerusalem artichokes, chinese cabbage, bok choi, kale

Half Shares: radishes, head lettuce, spinach, arugula, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, bok choi

Quarter shares: spinach, winter squash, carrots, bok choi
