These beautiful sunny days have been lovely to work in and perfect growing weather for all the green things on the farm! Our spinach, arugula, kale and other green leafy things are really enjoying the sunshine – along with all of us farm workers!
We have had a busy month of January – replacing plastic on the Chinese greenhouse and the high tunnel, attending conferences, moving sheds and getting a new field plowed and closer to being ready for spring planting, cutting new countertops for the community room kitchen (the remodeling is nearing completion!), and swinging into full time soil-blocking (our first tomato seedling are up and growing!). We also have a new addition to the farm – Solstice, one of our Dexter cows, gave birth to an adorable calf named Joesph. Make sure you stop by and say hello to him!
Here are some recipes that go with today’s CSA shares:
Anna Millsap made this dressing twice this weekend for an arugula salad and it was wonderful! Once we added avocado, the other avocado, strawberry and bean sprouts! yummy!
