Working Together- What to Expect

So, you’ve signed up to come out and do your work share. What can you expect? Well, you’ll most likely meet Farmer Curtis and perhaps his wife Sarah, or Farm Manager Kimby. Second year intern Cammie is pretty much ever present and great to work with. And then there will be various other workers: perhaps a farmhand, WWOOF’er, or WorkStay’er. Maybe from the U.S, but maybe not. The wild card or cards are your fellow community members that comprise such a wide range of individuals that you can’t possibly imagine. They may be a train engineer, be currently rehabbing a 1935 International Pickup truck or have just returned from checking out farms in Minnesota. They may love local food and enjoy playing in dirt or have realized the health benefits of chemical free produce. You could wind up weeding next to a Mom with a toddler in a pack on her back or a youngster who loves golf. The experience of being part of the CSA at Millsap Farm is an ever expanding one where friendships are constantly being formed, information, stories, and biz cards exchanged. You may sweat together, pull carrots together or simply clean garlic. Washing totes, radishes or kale, it’s all an important part of making the CSA work and making your experience with us worthwhile.  – Farmhand Donna
