We are partnering with the University of Missouri Extension to offer a once a month on the third Wednesday farm walk. This is a free event and is really meant for people who want to get into the details of our organic vegetable production. If you have been looking for an opportunity to come to the farm and pick Curtis’s brain this is your chance. It is also a great chance to come seasonally or every month and see what’s new and different happening on the farm. Feel free to share and invite your friends especially in the up-and-coming farmers. May 15th is our 1st 6:30-8:30!!

Well you are in luck because today is our Free Farm Walk from 1 -3!! Come today to learn about how we prepare their fields for growing tons of organic vegetables. In 12 years of farming they have tried everything from moldboard plowing to raised black plastic mulch beds to zero tillage. Come hear from Curtis about the good, the bad, and the ugly of each approach as we walk the fields and see what they are doing this year. We will cover tractor tillage with plows, discs, rototillers, and S tines, we will talk about walking tractors, power harrows, flail mower’s, and we will talk about cardboard mulch, deep compost systems, and other no-till approaches.Ice in the farm sink this morning
